Welcome to LocalMoco! This Privacy Policy explains how LocalMoco, Inc. (“LocalMoco,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use our platform, including our website, app, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect information like your name, email address, password, and date of birth.
  • Profile and Demographic Information: For Earners, we collect demographic data you choose to provide, such as location (country and state/region), education level, employment information, and your interests. This information is used to match you with relevant surveys.
  • Survey Responses: We collect the answers you provide to surveys. These responses are the core of our service.
  • Payment Information: For Earners, we facilitate payouts through Stripe, which may require you to provide bank account or other payment details to Stripe. For Creators, we collect payment information to process payments for surveys, also via Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.
  • Communications: If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.

B. Information We Collect Automatically

  • Log and Usage Data: We collect information automatically when you use our Services, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, device information, pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, and other standard log information.
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies to operate and administer our Services, gather usage data, and improve your experience. A cookie is a piece of information sent to your browser that allows our Services to remember your user preferences. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for various purposes, including:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain our Services.

  • With Survey Businesses: We share survey responses with Businesses in an aggregated and anonymized format. We do not share your name, email, or other direct identifiers with Businesses unless we have your explicit consent for a specific survey. Demographic information may be shared in a non-identifiable way (e.g., "25-34 year old, works in tech").
  • Vendors and Service Providers: We may share information with third-party vendors and service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, payment processing (Stripe), analytics, and customer service. These third parties are contractually obligated to safeguard your data.
  • As Required By Law and Similar Disclosures: We may access, preserve, and disclose your information if we believe doing so is required or appropriate to: (a) comply with law enforcement or national security requests and legal process, such as a court order or subpoena; (b) protect your, our, or others' rights, property, or safety; (c) enforce our policies or contracts; (d) collect amounts owed to us; or (e) assist with an investigation or prosecution of suspected or actual illegal activity.
  • With Your Consent: We may share your information with your consent.

Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information from our files as soon as possible.

Your information may be transferred to, and maintained on, computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.
